SONJA MCLEAN!!!Hi Valerie,
Here is my vote and comments for each contestant:
SONJA MCLEAN (My vote for winner*) Sonja's projects coordinated beautifully with each one having special meaning and eye-catching design. I love how Sonja used multiple techniques on each project and kept the overall design sweet and "girlie" for her daughter's birthday.
SHARMAINE KRUIJVER What I loved about Sharmaine's "Home" projects is that she chose to alter items to display throughout her home. The recycled frame was a fantastic idea and will make a darling statement in her home. She used various items in her projects that are inspiring and shows you can scrap out of the box!
RACHEL CLARK Happy Birthday Rachel! The projects for Rachel's birthday were stunning. The beautiful red papers she chose gave her projects depth and beauty. From the invitation to the layout, I can see that every project was created with care and a special touch. I am sure that Rachel's birthday guests felt very special enjoying her birthday.
Thank you for letting me help with the voting! What a great contest for these scrappers. Every one did such an AMAZING job with the challenges. I hope my comments will be encouraging for them.

Hi Val!
This was so much fun...thanks for including me in the judging!
Every single contestant did such a fabulous job....each round it was so hard to pick just one winner!
For the final judging, I chose
SONJA MCLEAN as the winner. Her entries were consistent through the entire process. I loved her color usage; design mastery; & her over all scrapbooking. She's so talented & very deserving to win. My fave was her final entry...wow! it was just amazing!
Each of the other entrants were great, too!
I loved Sharmaine's Challenge 2...wow, so beautiful!
And, Rachel's Challenge 4, pp, was gorgeous...
all are so talented...
they should all be so proud of themselves!
thanks again!

How cool that she focused on her 35th birthday. Such lovely projects for the party. What fun for her party guests!Sharmaine KruijverSuper whimsical and fun. You can tell Sharmaine loves to play with product. I totally dig the home theme that she went for with her grand final entry, since that's one of my personal favorite subjects.Sonja McLeanBeautiful projects. Challenge 6 is especially appealing to me. Love the boldness of the black in that work of art. And the coordinating stuff Sonja made for her daughter's first birthday are just precious.Becky Higgins Creating Keepsakes http://www.beckyhiggins.com/* * * * * * * *Hi Valerie,
I am glad I caught this! I am behind on e-mails and set to go to Creative Escape on Wednesday and then off to South Africa for two weeks. I must be insane. I hope this is enough of everything. I am checking my e-mail on the road so if you need a little something else, just let me know (I just might not be able to respond right away).
Thanks for asking me to do this!

My winner would be
Sonja McleanHere are some general comments:
I must say that it is always a humbling experience to judge something that is "creativity" based. There is no right or wrong, better or worse. If you get that feeling of excitement in the pit of your stomach once you have completed a project, then you are doing it the right way!
Here are some things I loved about each set of projects:
RachelI loved her choice of theme, truly. It was really a creative idea and the projects were stunning (I hope one of those cupcakes pictured has my name on it)! "The Bucket List" idea was cute and well executed. She also gets points because I too love to scrap with Red.
Sharmaine What a fun and funky style!! Made me happy just looking at everything. I liked the home theme- so much you could do with that. I loved the short story mini album!! I always say that in 50 years they can look at a photo and see that it was Christmas and they got a new bike, but it's this type of journaling (as in the mini book idea) that will be cherished and is the best gift you can give!
Sonja I liked Sonja's theme – we have all been there, done that! Trying to come up with all of the pieces and parts that go into a first birthday is a challenge. I loved the idea of having everything coordinate (kinda like a wedding) – very clever! All of this AND the projects were beautiful and well designed. The canvas was my fav - what a precious gift!
Please let me know who wins....so exciting!!!! I was happy to be involved.... Jenni
